Air pollution is any chemical, physical, or biological factor that contaminates the indoor or outdoor environment and alters the natural properties of the atmosphere. Every year air pollution kills around 2,500 people in Scotland.

Focussing on the pre-pubescent age group, boys are typically more likely to be diagnosed with Asthma than girls, and this trend majorly changes after puberty, where girls are twice as likely to develop asthma compared to boys.
Addressing the gaps currently present in asthma care

World Asthma Day is held annually in the first week of May to increase awareness and improve the care needed around the world. This year’s theme is “Closing Gaps in Asthma Care” to raise awareness of preventable suffering experienced by those affected, as well as limit the costs incurred by treating uncontrolled Asthma.
